LAHORE: PKR 3.406 billion Sigian Road project is expected to be completed by October. The project was launched in February.
An official of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), said that the Sigiyan Road project would be completed in October this year with continued funding, cooperation, and ownership from the authorities.
The Sigiyan Road project consists of two packages – package one consisting of 150 feet wide and 3.90 km long three-lane, two-meter wide drain, and sewerage system proposed by the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) and the Public Health Engineering Department.
Its estimated cost is over Rs 1.5457 billion.
The second package (Phol Mandi Chowk) will be 110 feet wide and 4.40 km long two-lane dual carriageway. The estimated cost is Rs 1.5273 billion.
The construction of the Lahore Bridge is 75% complete and is expected to be completed by September. Due to a delay in NOC from Pakistan Railways, the work of extending the bridge could not pick up speed.
In a survey, it is stated that the need for expanding the Lahore bridge is to ease the traffic congestion at the existing bridge while traveling towards Gajjumata and Kasuras.
