Sargodha Municipal Corporation Takes Strict Action Against Encroachments

SARGODHA: In a stringent move to curb encroachments, the Municipal Corporation of Sargodha has levied fines amounting to Rs 176,500 on several shopkeepers.

Additionally, during August 2023, the enforcement team issued 250 challan tickets, accumulating to a total of Rs 11,10,000 for various violations.

Chief Officer of Municipal Corporation, Muhammad Tariq Proya, highlighted the ongoing crackdown against these encroachments.

He mentioned that the anti-encroachment team, under the leadership of Regulation Officer MC Zoya Masood, has been actively surveying different market areas within the city.

Furthermore, Proya informed that last month saw the issuance of 20 warning notices to shopkeepers for encroachments. The team’s efforts led to the removal of temporary encroachments in areas like Satellite Town, Sherazi Town, and Mission Road.

Fines were also imposed on shopkeepers in prominent areas such as Faisal Bazaar, Katchery Bazaar, streets of Block No 2, General Bus Stand Road, and Qenchi Morr.

The Municipal Corporation remains committed to ensuring a clutter-free and organized city for its residents.
