Secretary Housing Orders Strict Action Against Illegal Water Connections

MULTAN: Muhammad Asif Chaudhry, secretary of housing for South Punjab, has ordered the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) administration to implement a zero-tolerance policy against unauthorized connections that cost the agency money.

The Secretary of Housing snubbed the WASA’s Recovery Department for its subpar recovery, saying that 100% recovery should be ensured to prevent a financial crisis in the Department.

As per the details, the secretary issued these directives while presiding over a meeting to review monthly recovery performance and ongoing development projects.

He also gave the order to start a thorough crackdown on defaulters and unlawful connections.

To guarantee a steady supply of clean drinking water for the populace, he also gave the pertinent authorities instructions to replace the filters in water filtering plants.

Furthermore, he also ordered the installation of sewerage drain covers to prevent any accidents, adding that, FIRs be filed against those responsible for stealing the covers of sewerage drains.
