The Sindh High Court has issued a show-cause notice to the Director General Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) for non-compliance with the court orders in an illegal construction case.
According to the details, the SHC had earlier issued directives to demolish a 5-storey building in Liaqatabad. However, the department has failed to act upon the court orders.
The SHC has also asked the SBCA to provide the details of the officials who allowed the illegal construction so that disciplinary action could be taken against them.
In response to this, a report was filed by the SBCA that read that the authority could not comply with the court orders as the residents had refused to vacate the building.
It added that the SBCA had sought assistance from the relevant Deputy Commissioner.
Furthermore, the SHC has ordered the SBCA Chief to submit an explanation and compliance reports after demolishing the building.
