SHC Requests a Report on the Failure to Clear Encroachments from KDA Land

The Sindh High Court ordered the Deputy Commissioner of District East to submit a compliance report regarding the failure to remove encroachments in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar.

A division bench led by Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi took notice of the concerned authorities to remove encroachments despite court orders while hearing an application from allottees from KDA block 6 regarding non-compliance with a court order.

The provincial law officer was asked by the court what steps had been taken to clear the KDA land of the encroachments.

It also revealed that despite having expired over a 40-year period, the original allottees still had not received the promised land.

The Deputy Commissioner explained the situation to a high-level meeting and asked for more time to put together a compliance report.
