Sindh Government Clarifies: Malir Expressway Project Carried Out Independently, Not Funded by ADB

KARACHI: Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister (SACM) Sindh for Investment and Public-Private Partnership Unit, provided an update on the Malir Expressway project.

He clarified that the project had been undertaken solely by the Sindh government and has never been a part of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

In a meeting, the progress of the construction work was assessed, and the project consultant delivered a comprehensive briefing.

After reviewing the environmental study report, it was emphasized that the Malir Expressway is environmentally safe, as confirmed by the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA).

The meeting was attended by the Director General (DG) of the Public-Private Partnership Unit, Asad Zaman, relevant officers, the project consultant, and other engineers.

SACM Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar emphasized the significance of the Malir Expressway as a crucial solution to Karachi’s transportation issues.

He instructed the concerned authorities to ensure the project’s timely completion for the benefit of the citizens.
