Sindh Govt All Set to Complete M-6 Motorway on Priority Basis

KARACHI: The Sindh Chief Secretary Dr. Sohail Rajput presided over a meeting on Tuesday to assess the status of the Hyderabad-Sukkur motorway (M6) project’s development.

According to the sources, the Hyderabad commissioner announced to the group that NHA would begin constructing the M6 highway between Jamshoro and Hyderabad.

The chief secretary was informed by NHA authorities that construction on the M6 highway would begin from both Hyderabad and Rohri and that the construction of M-6 would be completed in 24 months.

The meeting was informed that a bridge across the River Indus between Jamshoro and Hyderabad would be built to reduce the distance.

Besides, the Chief Secretary also assured that the M6 Motorway was a significant project for the whole country and that the land for this project would be acquired in Hyderabad and Shaheed Benazirabad soon.

Furthermore, the chief secretary for Sindh gave the go-ahead for the construction of the mega project and urged the authorities to complete the work on a priority basis.

It is worth mentioning that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif laid the M-6 motorway’s foundation stone in December of last year.
