The summons was issued while hearing a petition by residents of Surjani Town who sought directives for the government and KDA to retrieve their land from private land grabbers.

Despite previous orders, KDA has been unable to remove encroachments due to a lack of proper staff, force, or equipment.

The court has directed the KDA director general and chief secretary to present proposals on how to increase the department’s strength and capacity to safeguard land and remove encroachments by the law.
