KARACHI: The Karachi Development Authority (KDA) has begun anti-encroachment operations in different areas including Gulistan-e-Johar and Surjani Town.
According to the details, after a complaint was filed by the residents, the operation was carried out in Block 6 of Gulistan-e-Johar.
Additionally, the operation was carried out to recover the government and public land and to demolish unapproved constructions.
KDA, along with the police, carried out the operation in order to recover more than 17,000 commercial lands.
A KDA official said that the authority would soon carry out another operation in sectors 10, 13, and 14 of Surjani Town.
He added that in sector 10, there are 5,827 residential plots, 36 business plots and 99 amenity plots, and 16 flat site plots.
It was also shared that in sector 13, there are 55,458 residential plots, 182 business plots, 134 amenity plots, and 22 flat plots, while sector 14 has 6,465 residential plots, 613 commercial plots, 168 industrial plots, 67 amenity plots, and four flat site plots.
It is important to mention that in the previous anti-encroachment operations, many plots were recovered and returned to the legitimate owners.
