Stakeholders in Taxila and Kahuta Briefed Over Peri-Urban Structure Plans

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) held meetings with stakeholders in Taxila and Kahuta to educate them on the peri-urban structure plans and site development zones.

According to sources, a large number of citizens, district administration, and administrative officers attended the meeting where the consultant from Mott Macdonald Pakistan gave presentations on the proposals.

The RDA officers also answered questions about the projects and informed the participants about the new urban limits and restrictions.

The spokesperson stated that during the last meeting of the RDA’s governing council, it was decided that in charge of administrative matters in tehsils would be made aware of the plans for peri-urban structures and the areas designated for site development.

As per the details, the RDA Chief, Mohammad Saif Anwar Jappa, stated that housing societies and industrial areas will not be allowed outside the development zones, while areas outside the site development zones will be reserved for agriculture and the environment.

He invited citizens to share their suggestions on the peri-urban structure plans and site development zones by emailing RDA through its website www.rda.gop.pk

The RDA is also preparing planning documents for the next 25 years in collaboration with the local government for the master plan of Rawalpindi, he added.
