HARIPUR: The tehsil municipal administration and district administration are soon going to launch an anti-encroachment operation in Haripur to clear the traffic congestion.
According to the District Police Officer, Imran Shahid, the traffic jams have been caused by the shopkeepers who have rented their shop fronts to pushcart owners.
While talking to the media, he said that the shop owners park their bikes and vehicles there as well which creates a mess for the commuters resulting in traffic congestion.
The situation continued to worsen which prompted the authorities to take action against these encroachments, he added.
The DPO also shared that the authorities will also take action against the nonregistered rickshaw drivers soon.
It is important to mention that the DPO is dedicated to eradicating all the illegal and criminal activities in the district for which he has been issuing such instructions.
In this regard, the DPO said that several suspects who were involved in robbery, drugs, and car theft had been arrested by the police.
Additionally, the DPO has also instructed all the SHOs and Moharrirs to register FIRs without any delay and immediately transfer the complaints to the investigation wing.
