PESHAWAR: The United States has extended its support to the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by providing equipment worth $5 million to the KP Board of Revenue.
According to sources, this initiative aims to enhance the board’s capacity for accurate land measurements, promoting transparency and economic growth in the newly merged districts.
During a ceremony attended by Ambassador Donald Blome, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) handed over the equipment to the KP Board of Revenue.
The partnership between the United States and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa focuses on strengthening the land records and registration system, ensuring precision and reliability.
In addition, the United States announced a new partnership to empower the Ombudsperson Secretariat.
Through this collaboration, the Ombudsperson staff will receive training on women’s rights and land settlement regulations, emphasizing the crucial role of the Ombudsperson in protecting women’s rights to property and inheritance.
Ikramullah Khan, the senior member of the Board of Revenue, expressed his gratitude for the support of USAID in digitizing the land records system.
This transformation will revolutionize land record management in the merged areas, improving efficiency, accuracy, and convenience for the residents.
