LAHORE: On Tuesday, Chief Minister of Punjab, Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, met with Makhdoom Syed Tariq Mehmoodul Hasan, Vice-Chairman of the Overseas Pakistanis Commission of Punjab.
According to sources, they spoke about issues about the settlement of problems faced by Pakistanis living abroad.
The CM stated that overseas Pakistanis would be completely supported and aided in every provincial department, as the one-window revenue centers, NADRA, and LDA counters had been opened for their convenience, and district overseas committees had also been notified to facilitate them.
The Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab now offers land papers to overseas Pakistanis and a round-the-clock helpline to file complaints at any moment,” he added.
Besides, the CM also announced the regularisation of contract employees of the (OPC up to grade 9), saying that the regularisation of 56 employees of the Overseas Pakistanis Commission had been a long-standing demand.
Furthermore, Elahi directed to solve the problems of Pakistanis living abroad on a priority basis, adding that each divisional headquarters will establish a special overseas club, and that an overseas conference would soon be held to discuss and resolve their issues.
The CM promised that Pakistanis living abroad would have their rights upheld and that every attempt would be made to address their issues.
He claimed that expats were an asset and that the Punjab government was dedicated to finding solutions for Pakistanis living abroad.
