WASA to Cut Off Sewerage Connections of Housing Societies with Outstanding Dues

LAHORE: The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) of Lahore has started a campaign to collect unpaid bills from dues default private housing societies.

The decision was made in a recent meeting at the WASA headquarters and the agency’s MD gave instructions to the ‘Revenue and O&M wing’ to formulate a joint plan to get rid of financial irregularities.

He declared that defaulting housing societies must face strict punishment and their sewerage connections should be disconnected if they fail to pay the due amount.

Sewerage and infrastructure charges should be collected on a priority basis from all societies, and all directors must conduct a thorough survey of their respective towns and submit detailed reports, he advised.

Furthermore, he also warned that any irregularity in billing collection would not be tolerated while directing all officers to continue their efforts to eradicate dengue and clear stagnant water from their respective areas.
