WB Delegation Reviews Progress of PLRA’s Computerization Project

ISLAMABAD: The Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA) welcomed a delegation from the World Bank (WB) to its Head Office to review the progress of the computerization of urban land records in Punjab.

The delegation was updated on the ongoing project’s progress, including the use of modern technology and advanced software to modernize the land administration system in the province.

According to the details, the project is aimed at making land-related services more affordable and transparent for the public and is being implemented with a USD 150 million fund from the WB.

Its scope includes the collection and computerization of records, preparation of computerized maps, and linking of rural and urban land records to create an integrated and standardized land administration system.

These reforms will not only make land records more accessible and secure but will also provide the government with data for public welfare projects such as city planning and housing.

It is worth noting that the PLRA is collaborating with the WB to digitize Punjab’s land records and is using the provided fund for the project, including a Geographic Information System (GIS) survey to assess the state’s land accurately.
