Cellular Companies' QoS Survey Results

As per regulation, PTA is supposed to conduct Quality of Service Surveys for telecom services in the country, at least once a year.

In first half of 2009, in several phases, PTA conducted QoS survey to calculate the service standards of cellular companies. Results were recently on-aired by the authorities and they reveal that all cellular operators failed to achieve the desired standards.

The QoS survey included quality of voice and SMS in 14 cities of Pakistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Northern Areas as well as all major highways. The exercise was conducted by the PTA’s enforcement teams with the latest automated QoS equipment.

    • Well, Its a multipurpose counter, as we are launching new project(s) after the counter completes its duration :P

  • I think PTA should conduct survey on over-charging as well because there is no quality issue as such on most of cell operators but they are over-charging most of time as they committed.
