Nokia X5-01 is an upcoming smartphone, which has been put under the X-Series of Nokia Mobiles and unveiled earlier in June, 2010. It is a phone with a lot of features that one would wish to have in one’s phone. The phone comes with Symbian OS 9.3.

Design:

The design is not so good and is the worst looking in the X-Series as many of the people say. The phone is completely square in shape. It comes with the dimensions of 74.3 x 66.4 x 16.8 mm with a weight of about 129 grams.

The screen is a bit too wide as compared to the display of just 2.36”. The phone comes with a full QWERTY keypad for easy message composition. The phone will be available in five colors Yellow Green, Purple, Pink, Azure and Graphite Black will follow after a few days of its first launch. The phone comes with additional 3 labeled soft keys, Media Keys, Volume Keys and Navi™ Keys.

Telephone Experience:

The phone has a user friendly environment and has a good voice quality like many other Nokia phones. The phone provides an excellent voice quality and it is a good experience talking on this phone. The screen resolution is 320×240 pixels with a color display of 256K colors.

Nokia X5-01 provides you with social network integration like facebook and youtube. The set gives you a feature to shake the phone to check the unread messages. The battery used is Lithium Ion battery with USB charging option. The phone gives a standby time of about 384 hours on a 2G network and talk time of 384 hours on a 3G network. The phone gives a talk time of about 4 hours on a 2G network and a talk time of 3 hours and 30 minutes on a 3G network. The phone supports a music playback time of 24 hours.

Phone Management:

The phonebook allows storing numbers of contacts without any phonebook limit. The call log can store phone calls for 30 days with no limit of number of calls. The call log provides detailed information of each and every call for persons giving a number of calls every day. A complete QWERTY keypad gives you a keypad that can be used to write message with a lot of ease. The input of messages is easy with the intelligent text input.

Multimedia Quality:

Like all the models of this X-Series Mobiles, Nokia X5-01 gives the best multimedia quality. The phone gives you an excellent playback quality while you work in the foreground. The phone comes with MP3 player, WMA, WAV, eAAC player which gives an excellent playback quality no matter what the type of file is. The video players are capable of playing a number of different formats including the well-known video formats such as MP4, H.263 and H.264 videos. The phone comes with a 2.36” QVGA display on which you can enjoy good quality videos. The phone comes with Video Editor and Video Streaming options as well. The phone is also blessed with stereo FM radio.

Images and Camera:

The phone comes with a single primary camera of 5 mega pixels full focus (EDOF), 2592×1944 supported with a LED flash. The camera has 4x digital zoom. The camera gives the features of red eye reduction, self timer and auto exposure. Photo viewer gives you an option of slide show of photos making it easier to view pictures without the need to press the button. The phone gives you the feature of video recording as well.

The resolution of video recording is 640×480 pixels. Video is recorded in MPEG-4 and H.263 formats. The mobile does not have any secondary camera. The picture and video results are of high quality. The phone has an internal memory of 200 MB. The phone supports a microSD card and Nokia provides a 2GB card with the mobile phone.

Applications:

The phone includes a WAP 2.0 browser for a good experience of web surfing. The set has a number of included games and also the option to download games. In addition to this, the set has many social networks integrated like facebook, youtube etc.
