Google Plus: 10 Million Users with 1 Billion Shares Per Day

google_plus_logoNewly launched social network, Google Plus is said to have over 10 million users with 1 billion shares per day, Google’s CEO Larry Page revealed this during company’s quarterly earning call today.

I don’t have facts to support my theory but the figures seems to be pretty exaggerated or Larry didn’t clear things how they reckoned these stats.

If there are 1 billion shares per day with 10 million users, this comes out to be 100 shares per user, on average – which sounds way unrealistic.

If you guys remember, Mark Zuckerberg, in his recent speech of Facebook Video Chat launch, said that Facebook is serving some billion(s) of them per day with more than 750 million users.

In a wall post, Larry further revealed that Circles are currently most liked feature of Google+ among users as they provide easy to manage privacy solutions.

“Our goal with Google+ is to make sharing on the web like sharing in real life, as well as to improve the overall Google experience. Circles let you choose with precision who you are sharing with. Not surprisingly this has been very well received, because in real life, we share different things with different people”, Page said.

About +1 button, CEO Google said that it is already over the web with some 2.3 billion views per day.

  • The stats cannot be exaggarated as everything is pulled out from clicks and hits per page. What isn’t mentioned but is clear is that people are experimeting with a new toy which is Google+. They might not have a 100 posts everyday but while checking out the feature they must share a significant amount of stuff through the service.

Also take in to account that Google employees who must be amongst the top sharers as they try and explain the service to friends and the general public. Also take in to account the discussions that ensue. So a billion shares is not unrealistic at all.

  • I don’t believe this…I applied for membership as soon as I heard about G+, but yet to receive their invitation…. How on the earth did they get 10M users without a full launch, and when people are in massive quantity still waiting for membership. Despite my good hope for its future, I think currently these figures are nothing but just a showoff, because no one know the real inside statistics.

    • — How on the earth did they get 10M users without a full launch, and when people are in massive quantity still waiting for membership.

There are over 2 BILLION people on the internet. Facebook alone has 700 million users. 10 million users worldwide is nothing.

Everyone I have invited recently has got in.

      — Despite my good hope for its future, I think currently these figures are nothing but just a showoff, because no one know the real inside statistics.

If you cannot get in that does not mean the numbers are faked.

  • Hey i didn’t like g+ it is similar to facebook nothing extra ordinary there… may be in future they will come up with new ideas… but for the time being I will rate 5/10 :) anyone want to get invitation email me.. but I know email will not display here so sorry :P

      • Says “I”
The fact is that Uncle Google haven’t re-invented the wheel. The only thing that intrigued me a teeny bit is the “hangout” functionality but I bet Facebook will announce something similarly awesome soon. Circles are flipped Facebook lists and they irritate me a little.

On top of that we, the users don’t have time to add another social network to our list.
        But again, thats just me.

  • I guess you guys don’t know about the hangout feature of google+. If you knew about that feature alone of google+, you wouldn’t be saying things like google+ is just a clone.

The hangout feature is pretty good and in near future you can expect google to keep making improvements to the system..

  • i thing this can be possible coz single user can invite unlimited new members and every invited member can do the same , Now u can do the math , :) Loved the Google plus , finally i can say Face Book has a competitor now.
