Details of contract shall b made available

So when even the US market is now trying to move away from contracts, Pakistan is trying to adopt them?

    Seems very counter-intuitive.

    • Shoaib

US market isn’t trying to move away from contract. Majority of their cellphone users use contracts. Which is why they can upgrade every year without a sweat, after paying some contract breaking fee.

      • Faizan

That *some contract breaking fee* my friend cost people an arm,a leg and sometimes a kidney. Let me know when you are willing to pay $50/m for 24 months for your cellphone plan and you can have a free phone for 2 years. People want Rs.100/month unlimited messaging and free phones too. Jeez!!!

        • Shoaib

Faizan, I’m not forcing you to buy it, but everyone knows that $50 a month somehow seems easier to pay than $600 upfront for a phone, plus monthly cell usage (even though it may not be, small monthly payments have a psychological effect of their own. Which is why it’s easier to use credit cards than to pay upfront). And where do you get a free phone (feature phone or flagship phone) in PK (with unlimited messaging) for Rs. 100 a month? That’s exaggerating the facts a little bit too much.

          • Faizan

I said that is what people want not that they are getting it anywhere. I was pointing out that it is not easy to break away from a contract anywhere.

Such offers should not be restricted to credit card holders only.

    • Faizan

How else they going to keep track if someone never pays back ? They can easily add the installment to their cc bill and then interest on top of that + late fee etc.

  • hellodrsoul

If they made it a success, all other banks and carriers will jump into such deals, like they did with money transfer through phone numbers. And every one will then have one or another option to pick from according to his needs. Its definitely a good move in right direction.

Let the competition start and it will obviously benefit the customers.

  • Badar Iqbal

Pakistan is nation of muslims. But we dont feel ashamed take loans on interest for cars, bikes, homes, and now on mobile phones too. Prophet PBUH said Interest has 70 sins in it, smallest is like a person rapes own mother. Our country needs an interest free economical system other wise poverty will be on extreme. Even rich could not find any thing to eat.

    • Mohsin

interest free hai…app ne parha nhi kia

      • Badar Iqbal

It will be available to those who have credit card. and everyone know there are lots of interests hidden or un hidden on use of credit card. conditions apply if any one cares about it or not.

    • Ronin

Pakistan is not a nation of muslims, it’s a nation of Pakistanis. Why disown non muslims who pay taxes and sacrificed for this county. If there is an economic system possible without interest please present it and don’t point at religion again and again just show your cards use financial terminology, where this system has been tested in modern world and what impact on growth was observed. Have you thought about the corruption from top to bottom, failure to plan and execute financial growth plans are to blame for it.. and there are bigger and much worst evils in Pakistani economy turning this great country in the miserable state it is now

      • Badar Iqbal

Isko kehtay hain parai shadi ma Abdulla deewana :D I have not disowned non muslims dear brother. However Islam islam is not religion of certain tenure it is for the last day of this world which means that the system doesnt needs to be checked in modern era(so called modren). Islam presented the best economical system to implement however its our own negligence that we havent implemented it. I dont know turning the sentences by words as I am not a professional blogger, but my dear this is not justification that one evil is present first end that… and that… and so on. Near to me hang the evils at once without any court proceedings.

        • Ronin

Asking for a rational and logical response was a bit too much I guess…Sure mate keep on rambling it’s almost amusing

          • Farhan

Dear ronin, these people like badar talk quite illogical and they put religion in every discussion, this is habit of most of low illiterate pakistani people, they dont know the basics and start discussing or giving inouts or blaming others, this is a simple promotional scheme offered by ufone and faysal bank and this guy is shooting that this is nation of muslims and muslims should be ashamed to buy products based on interest system, i think that he is not aware that our govt has recently got a heavy loan from IMF on quite heavy interest rates.

            • Badar Iqbal

Thanks for calling me illiterate. I performed my duty u do whatever u want. I am aware of govt but I have no power to control them, however I can aware the common people. If u want to be a part of this system you can I cant forcefully stop you.

    • Farhan

oh badar bhaiya, kya baat kartey ho dear, kis duniya me rahtey ho, kya banks ya ufone waley pagal he ka interest free phone dey gey logo ko, agar interest free ya credit card ki hidden charges nahi ho gey to phir wo price hi zyada rakh dey gey, duniya me koi cheez free nahi milti, be realistic and don’t interpret religion wrongly. kya aap kisi ko interest free loan de do gey, agar khud nahi de saktey to kisi bank se kio ummeed rakhtey ho

  • waqas
