AMD Launches New Ryzen Processors for Pre-Built Computers

AMD, which has been on a roll in recent times when it comes to new product launches, has announced four new additions to its Ryzen desktop lineup, including both X and E-rated chips.

All 4 chips are based on the Zen+ architecture and come with low TDP ratings. According to AMD, the chips are only available through pre-built systems, and that might unfortunately remain the case in the foreseeable future. Meaning, you won’t be able to buy them separately for your own custom built PC.

Detailed Specifications

The X-rated chips include the new Ryzen 3 2300X and Ryzen 5 2500X. These chips, which are targeted towards entry-level gamers, come with four cores, with the former coming with four and the latter with eight threads.

The 2300X is clocked at 3500MHz, with the 2500X at 3600MHz, though, both have a similar turbo mode of 4000MHz. They have an 8 MB L3 cache and a 65W TDP.

The E-rated chips include the new Ryzen 5 2600E and Ryzen 7 2700E. These chips are targeted towards moderately-powered desktops with smaller footprints and power requirements, as evident by the 45W TDP.

The 2600E comes with 6 cores and 12 threads, and is clocked at 3100MHz with a 4000MHz turbo mode and a 16 MB L3 cache.

The 2700E comes instead with 8 cores and 12 threads. It has an even lower base clock of 2800MHz (though, the boost mode is same) with a 16 MB L3 cache.

Prices for the standalone versions of the chips hasn’t been announced. They are currently available in pre-built systems from Acer.

  • AMD Ryzen is not officially available in Pakistan.
Even though AMD Ryzen performs better, is more safer, cooler and cheaper than Intel.
Coming March they will release their 7nm chips and will be beating intel hands down.
Intel won’t be realeasing their 10nm until late 2019.
    FYI, Lower nm is better.

Yet AMD is not officially available in Pakistan
