Huawei presents Green Solutions at TeleCON 2009

Huawei Technologies Co Ltd. ‘Huawei’, a next-generation leading telecommunications network solution provider for operators around the world, has discussed its impressive lineup of end-to-end green solutions recently at the 2nd Global Telecommunication Congress 2009 (TeleCON’2009), held at Lahore, Pakistan.

Jacky (Zhang Jing), Wireless Product Manager, while addressing the attendees of TeleCON, said: “As nowadays telecom operators are increasingly becoming more environmentally concerned and challenged with higher operating expenditure due to high energy costs, Huawei has developed a series of innovative green telecom solutions, including green-based station with less power consumption and heat emission, green power solution, based on the local renewable resource, green equipment room with modular design that is more space-saving and easier to install.”

“Warid Telecom has deployed Pakistan’s 1st solar-powered BTS site last year by implementing Huawei’s Green BTS Solutions and Huawei has also helped Ufone and CMPak to deploy their remote-controlled solar-powered Macro BTS to extend the network to reach into the remote area where there is limited access to the electricity grid. By working closely with telecom operators and stakeholders, Huawei moves swiftly for achieving its goal of “Green Huawei, Green Communications, and a Green World”. He concluded.

Huawei’s environmentally friendly Base Transceiver Station, for instance, is engineered to reduce equipment energy consumption by up to 30 percent and its small footprint takes up 40 percent less space in equipment rooms. Additionally, Huawei actively cooperates with operators on energy-saving and emission reduction projects.
