Warid Increases Helpline Call Charges by 50%

Warid Tel has increased its helpline call charges by 50 percent. From now onwards  all calls made to Warid customer service representatives will be charged as  Rs 1.50 plus tax per call to be effective from May 20 onwards. The announcement has been made for prepaid customers on Wednesday.

Warid is the third operators hiked its call charges to customers care centers following Mobilink and Telenor, which spiked 100 percent of their helpline call charges in the past few months ago.

Mobilink and Telenor helpline call charges have been increased to Rs 2 per call in Nov 2010 and April 211 respectively.  Mobilink charges have increased to Rs. 2.42 including taxes whereas Telenor has surged its helpline cost to Rs 2.79 including tax and IVR applied charges.

The help line charges will be translated at Rs1.80 per call after inclusion of 19.5 percent taxes. Besides call charges by IVR for specific inquires will remain 50 paisa plus taxes as the company claims.

Ufone and Zong are left to enhance their helpline charges at present, which are apparently seemed to follow the same suit in the future.

  • Loot maar ka bazaar garm hai to Telecom sector peechay kyun rahe!
They have hold our nervers, we pay taxes more on our telecommunications (Cellular services) than anyother sector. We pay FED, VAT, GST, SERVICE CHARGES and what more is, Helpline Charges! Bullshit.. And shame on these bastards.
    Where is so called ‘PTA’?

Just trying to snatch even single penny!
    * If we people (100 Million Customers) switch off our cell-phones for only 2 days as strike they will be forced to bring back their such pitty decissions.

We call on strikes when it comes to Load Shedding, Education or what ever the problem may be but why not in this matter?

    • Good Thinking bro but you know very well that all we are Pakistani so Thinking Thinking and just Thinking.

      • Hi,

Sorry to say but we need to consider the things relatively, I do agree that helpline charges are called by companies but its not fair to put FED, VAT, GST in companies basket. Furthermore the telecom customers are paying much higher taxes after oil but again its not companies who are keeping this amount. Companies are just collectors to collect this money on behalf of our beloved govenrment. And the blame is to be put on users who are silent when taxes are applied, I can’t see any reasonable protest against recently aplied 15% tax on WHT and ofcourse its also applicable on telecom customers.

        Regards,
        Naveed

    • Don’t you know pakistani(our) youth, they use to spend time with customer care center lady when their GF is out for…….

theres a rule that the customer care person should not, in any case, drop the call…… and we take benefit of it.

We are not good people at national level.

  • We call the helpline usually when we face a “problem” in the “service” we have paid for (sim) and are consistently paying for (scratch cards) to use. They shouldn’t charge for that, just saving their ____ so that more and more people are turned off by these ridiculous charges and they can spend their shift sleeping or surfing net probably. Thats what they get paid for.

  • It simply shows how the company going in crises! in world wide Telecom companies provide 24×7 smart free support to their consumer because one of dissatisfied consumer can ruin around 10-12 consumers. In business providing customer support management like this means strictly unethical

    • WEll you have two options: call them or visit their main service center. One of them is cheaper and takes less time. What will you do?

Unless you can get the competition group in the government (I forget their exact name) to investigate the issue because all operators charge, there is no other option.

  • only one positive thing is that they have advetrized it about a month before this is what we can appricate

  • They SMS customers about every shit, sometimes they are so annoying with their SMS about RBTs and crap.

What a religious man will do with latest Bollywood RBTs ?

But they will not inform you about this. What a shame.
