Zong Increases Helpline Charges

Zong has announced to increase call charges for helpline calls from September 21st, 2012.

After the said date all calls made to helpline number (310) will be charged at Rs. 2.38 (including taxes) per call.

A note published on Zong website reads:

Dear customer! To enhance your experience of accessing our services, charges for calling our helpline 310 are being revised to Rs. 2+tax per call from 21st September 2012.

Mobile phone subscribers say that despite all the claims made by cellular companies for enhancing user experience, calls made to helpline numbers remain on hold for around 10 minutes or above even when calls are charged for Rs. 2 plus taxes.

This is true for almost all operators, except for those with postpaid subscription plans.

Other operators are already charging Rs. 2 plus tax (or Rs. 2.38 including taxes) for helpline calls.

In a related news, Zong’s UAN for helpline, i.e. 111-222-111, doesn’t work. Users who want to call Zong helpline are confined to call from Zong numbers by dialing 310, leaving no option for users to call helpline from other networks.
