A source, who has seen the PTA directive, said that there was no mention of cellular suspension for tomorrow or day after tomorrow (9th and 10th Muharram). However, he said that industry is fearing more cellular suspensions on larger scale and more cities on Saturday and Sunday.
PTA is likely to issue service suspension directives for Saturday and Sunday as well.
PTA, on advisory from Interior Ministry, now regularly issues such directives for cellular suspensions, citing security reasons. It appears that the ban on pillion riding and cellular services go hand in hand.
