Mobilink Foundation Torchbearers participated at the Annual Children’s Mela organized by Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Center (SKMCH&RC), organizing a host of entertainment opportunities for the children being treated at the hospital.

The day-long event involved over 1000 young patients and their families, and was also attended by SKMCH’s institutional partners as well as prominent civil society members and media representatives. The carnival-like atmosphere featured outdoor games and activities for the patients, followed by performances and comic skits.

Omar Manzur, Head of Corporate Communications, Mobilink, emphasized; “Mobilink’s Torchbearers are the backbone of the various initiatives undertaken by the Mobilink Foundation. We are grateful to SKMCH&RC for opening their doors to the Mobilink Foundation and our Torchbearers and enabling us to bring some joy to the lives of these young patients and their families.’

Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH&RC) thanked Mobilink Foundation Torchbearers for volunteering their services in this carnival which aims to provide psychological support to cancer patients.

The participation of the Mobilink Foundation Torchbearers at the SKMCH’s Annual Children’s Mela is the continuation of a partnership that has spanned over the last many years. In 2012, Mobilink Foundation contributed PKR 3 million for an out-patient department at the under-construction Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Center (SKMCH&RC) in Peshawar. Each Ramazan, Mobilink Foundation also organizes a zakat and donation campaign to generate funding for SKMCH&RC, creating awareness through activities at various customer touch points
