Mobilink Foundation celebrated “Pakistan Day” by conducting a clean-up activity on Trail 3 of the Margalla Hills in Islamabad. The activity involved nearly 150 participants, including Mobilink Torchbearers (employee volunteers), their families and students from the Pehli Kiran Schools.
The environment friendly activity was aimed at promoting the need to preserve Pakistan’s natural habitats. The activity also marked Mobilink Foundation’s dedication to promoting a healthier lifestyle, with Mobilink employees and their families participating in the clean-up of Trail 3 from the base all the way to the top of the Margalla Hills.
The initiative promoted national identity and pride through the participation of students from the Pehli Kiran School network for the trek as a means of including them in the celebrations of Pakistan Day and providing them an opportunity to participate in an outdoor activity.
Omar Manzur, Head of Corporate Communications, Mobilink shared his views on the occasion, “23rdof March is a day to emphasize our commitment and dedication to Pakistan. The Mobilink Foundation is the custodian of Mobilink’s Corporate Responsibility initiatives and we continue to put an emphasis on the preservation of the natural environment as well as the promotion of a healthier lifestyle for the benefit of our employees and the communities in which we operate.”
Mobilink Foundation remains committed to preserving the natural environment of Pakistan, and this activity is a continuation of an on-going drive to clean the various trekking trails of the Margalla Hills. As a result of the close proximity of the Hills to Islamabad, trekking has become a regular activity for many residents of the Twin Cities, and such clean-up activities are essential to preserve the natural beauty of these Hills.
