Telenor Empowers PWDs with Professional Mobile Repairing Skills

Aimed at empowering Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) to earn their livelihood, Telenor Pakistan has revamped the Mobile Repairing Lab at National Teaching Center for Special Persons (NTCSP) with modern state-of-the-art equipment, internet connectivity and a fulltime mobile repairing trainer.

The newly revamped lab, which has been set up in collaboration with Special Talent Exchange Program (STEP) under Telenor Pakistan’s flagship corporate responsibility initiative ‘Khuddar Pakistan’, was inaugurated today by Sibghut-ur-Rehman, Director General, Special Education.

Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Aslam Hayat, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Telenor Pakistan said, “With Khuddar Pakistan, we are striving to bring a positive change and lasting impact in the lives of Persons with Disabilities. The revamp of this lab is yet another endeavour on our part to unlock their potential and empower them with necessary skills to earn a decent livelihood in the society”.

Sibghut-ur-Rehman, Director General, Special Education also lauded Telenor Pakistan’s commitment towards the inclusion of PWDs in the society and expressed his gratitude on successful up-gradation of the lab that will ensure a promising future for the PWDs.

In the current batch, twelve students with different disabilities will go through an extensive six-month mobile repairing training, encompassing theoretical and technical aspects of the skill.
