Mobilink and Telenor Initiate Relief Efforts for Flood Hit Areas

Mobilink and Telenor have initiated their respective relief efforts for flood hit areas of Punjab and AJK.

Mobilink Foundation partnered with Pakistan Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to provide food assistance to the flood affectees in the Jhang District and its surrounding areas. Nutritional assistance was provided to 500 families with packages that included perishable food items and bottled water.

Mobilink said that this activity marks the first phase of relief operations company aims at carrying out in other parts of the country.

On the other hands, Telenor announced a contribution of PKR 20 million. Company will provide relief goods through its response partner, Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) to over 320 flood affected families.

Telenor said that its contribution will be utilized by PRCS to provide over 2,200 individuals with nonfood items including tents, blankets, tarpaulin sheets, Kitchen set, lamp hurricane, stove, jerry can, hygiene kit, shelter toolkit, CGI sheets and mosquito nets. Moreover, under Telenor Pakistan’s employee volunteerism initiativeTelenor Hum Qadam, volunteers will assist PRCS during distribution whereas the employees will also continue with their tradition of personally donating to the cause.
