Lycamobile Shows Interest in MVNO License, Meets Anusha Rehman

A two-member delegation of Lycamobile UK, headed by Mr. Faheem Shehzad Senior Business Executive called on the Minister of State for Information Technology Ms. Anusha Rahman in her office here in Islamabad.

Federal Secretary IT Mr. Azmat Ali Rangha was also present in the meeting.

The delegates apprised the Minister regarding Global business potentials and key features of their company. Lycamobile showed its interest in buying an MVNO license in Pakistan to start offering its services in the country.

Lycamobile is a leading cellular company based in UK while having successful business venture in 17 western and European Countries including USA.

Not to mention, with MVNO license, operators re-sell services of cellular operators as their own. MVNO operators do the marketing part of products and services while the technical and support part is managed by the original cellular operator as usual.

The Minister IT, Anusha Rahman, reiterated the commitment of PMLN Government to provide conducive environment and support to the foreign investors especially in ICT sector, so that this sector could flourish magnificently.

The Minister further stated that after inception of 3G/4G ICT sector of Pakistan has become a promising land for foreign investors with 80% voice penetration. She appreciated the keen interest of lycamobile for investment in ICT sector of Pakistan and assured complete support of Government of Pakistan to support new investors in the country.
