Official: Aamir Ibrahim to Join Mobilink as Deputy CEO and CCO

Aamir Ibrahim, one of the founding members of Mobilink from 1994 and more recently Senior Vice President Telenor Group in Thailand, is confirmed to be returning to Mobilink as Deputy CEO and Chief Commercial Officer, said a statement issued by the company.

He will be joining Mobilink from June 1st, 2015, said the statement.

In this role Aamir will lead all commercial aspects of Mobilink’s various businesses.

Aamir has over 20 years of blue chip experience across various countries and industries. He has previously served as Chief Marketing Officer Telenor Pakistan and Chief Strategy Officer Mobilink in addition to various leadership roles at Ford Motor Company in Europe and Middle East. Aamir has an MBA from IMD and an AMP diploma from Harvard Business School.

Aamir Ibrahim, as we reported earlier, will replace Bilal Munir Sheikh.

“I would also like to thank Bilal, who will be moving on to assist me on key projects including further developing the mobile financial services business and identifying new business opportunities across the Company”, added Jeffrey Hedberg.

Bilal Munir Sheikh has played a critical part in Mobilink’s success in various sales and marketing roles over the past 12 years. Under his guidance Mobilink has grown to 38 million subscribers and has solidly established itself as the leading operator in Pakistan. Bilal gave credit to his team “I have been blessed with an amazing team and individuals at Mobilink. I owe my success to them and look forward to new challenges”.
