PlanX is one of many projects initiated by Punjab Information Technology Board. It is now set to host its very first Demo Day towards the end of the month. As you would expect with PlanX projects, the target audience comprises budding startups and entrepreneurs. What better way to celebrate Pakistan’s entrepreneurial spirit?
What is Demo Day?
Demo Day is meant to offer a platform that allows Pakistani entrepreneurs and startups to showcase their talent with their own products and services. A grand convention such as this is also a great opportunity for budding entrepreneurs to to meet with and learn from the industry’s finest investors, mentors and potential clients. No wonder more than 100 startups and over 500 attendees are expected.
Where and when?
PlanX Demo Day will be held at Arfa Software Technology Park in Lahore on 26th March, 2015. It is scheduled to begin at 10am and last till 7pm.
What is on the agenda?
The event is set to begin with a welcome note by the Program Manager upon which the speaker session will commence. The distinct panel of speakers includes: Umair Jaliawala, Burak Buyukdemir, Dave Mcclure, Rahul Sood and Dr. Umair Saif. There will be a lot of networking opportunities on offer with speed networking on the agenda. Startup pitches will follow soon after along with the award ceremony.
How does one participate?
Anyone interested in attending the Demo Day could fill out the application form here upon which an email was sent to confirm if one had been shortlisted. Unfortunately, the organizers have stopped entertaining applications since the 18th of March. You may still register as a visitor here if you are willing to attend the event as a guest.
Is there a price to set up a stall?
If you happen to be part of an established organisation wishing to showcase your product (5ftx4ft), a corporate stall will set you back by Rs. 10,000. In case you happen to be a student with a product or service to display, you can exhibit it with absolutely no fee charged.
