In times when advancements in technology impacts the progress in fields of health and education, it is necessary to establish a platform for others to invest in the future of Computer Sciences.
NaSCon, being one of the biggest events annually organised by FAST National University Islamabad, is one such forum that invites participants from all over Pakistan to showcase their skills and talent. Like each year, this year’s event will offer a number of Business, Computer Science and Engineering competitions.
What is the purpose?
This idea behind this holding this year’s event is to assist the youth in matching their passion with academia in order to help them pursue what interests them. After all, that is the ultimate modern day dilemma for quite a number of students who fail to pursue what they might be interested in. In short, this is expected to contribute to a brighter future for students.
What is the theme?
A theme is prepared for NaSCon every year in order to indulge participants in healthy debate which can potentially provide solutions to issues that we currently face. The set theme for NaSCon 2015 stresses 3 aspects of sustainability: economic sustainability, environmental sustainability and social sustainability.
What are the planned events and competitions?
A number of amenties have been planned for the 3-day event. Categories range from Computer Sciences and Engineering to Social and Sports. Some of these include: Robo Sprint, Robothon, Battle of Bots, Scavenger Hunt, Mobile App Development, Speed Programming, Ideathon, Quad Mania, Business Plan Competition, NaSCon Model United Nation and Standup Comedy and Mushaira.
What is the total prize money?
The total prize worth is Rs. 1.5 million. Given the range of competitions featured at the event, participants have an opportunity to win plenty.
