Philips has launched two new smartphones which won’t please the spec geeks but will certainly help in resolving one of the most common screen issues: eye strain and fatigue. Recently, it was revealed that smartphone screens induce insomnia due to the blue color from smartphone screens, making our body think its daytime.
Philips’ both new smartphones utilize a new technology that the manufacturer calls SoftBlue. This “anti-blue” display technology reduces the amount of blue light coming out of smartphone screens by up to 86 percent. The display should help avoiding eye strains and won’t hamper the sleep process. The company uses its home brewed tech on Philips Sapphire S616 and Philips Sapphire Life V787 smartphones.

While the Philips brand is usually associated with just light bulbs, other lighting equipment and audio devices, it’s great to see the underdogs bringing innovation and improvements to the otherwise spec competing with smartphones from the big manufacturers like Samsung and Apple.
why mediatek is the choice? also @admin can you please write an article about mediatek and snapdragon pros and cons the overall idea? thanks.
Jitna gur. Utna metha… ( honda ya bmw)
“Won’t please the spec geeks ”
I can disagree with that…
It looks a fair phone but yeah there are better options i admit. But health comes first always… so yea, i like this…

“This “anti-blue” display technology reduces the amount of blue light coming out of smartphone screens by up to 86 percent. “
i bet cheezmall can bring them here !
Or you can simply install the free Dimly app from Play Store for the same effect. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=es.richardsolano.filter
“While the Philips brand is usually associated with just light bulbs, other lighting equipment and audio devices”
What an idiotic statement to make, if you don’t know about a brand or it’s products Google them before you suggest something like this in your article. Light bulb LMAO
Well the general perception about Philips is just lighting and stuff in recent years. Perhaps you should check out Philips Pakistan website or Google Philips.
Misleading article. Spec geeks, light bulbs, keema walay naan
i have seen GALAXY j7 Galaxy Grand Prime Honor 4c luxury aluminum luxury back covers on kaymu dot ph any body got that
It won’t have any effect on the LCD smartphones since the blue light comes from the white back light of these display panels.
Even some OLED displays have a white LED so apps like these won’t be fit for the purpose
hehehe. Insomnia due to blue color. What a bunch of idiots.
That is so rude.
