Three upcoming Xiaomi devices have received regulatory certifications, revealing new details about the company’s Redmi Note 17 lineup and its next foldable phone.
Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission has certified the global Redmi Note 17 and the previously unannounced Redmi Note 17 Pro Max.
At the same time, an upcoming Xiaomi foldable carrying model number 2608BPX34C has appeared in China’s telecommunications certification database.
Redmi Note 17 Pro Max Confirmed for Global Release
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max appeared in Thailand’s NBTC database under model number 2609FRA74G.
The listing provides the first clear evidence that the Pro Max model exists and is intended for international markets. Xiaomi launched only the standard Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro in China, making the Pro Max a new addition to the global lineup.
Certification documents generally confirm a device’s model number and network compatibility but do not reveal its complete specifications.
According to current leaks, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max could feature a 7-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The phone is also rumoured to include a 32MP Samsung S5KKDS front camera and a 200MP Samsung HP5 primary camera. An 8MP OmniVision ultra-wide camera could accompany the main sensor.
Other reported specifications include a 9,210mAh battery, 100W charging, IP68 water and dust resistance, and several memory and storage configurations. These specifications have not yet been confirmed by Xiaomi.
The “2609” prefix in its model number may indicate a September launch. However, model-number prefixes do not provide official confirmation of a release date.
Global Redmi Note 17 Gets NBTC Approval
The global Redmi Note 17 has also received NBTC certification under model number 26081RA18G.
Reports suggest the international version will carry a 7,700mAh battery, compared with the 8,000mAh battery offered by the Chinese model.
The Indian version is expected to retain the larger 8,000mAh battery.
The phone is reportedly scheduled to launch in India on August 6, with sales beginning on August 11. However, these dates currently come from leaks rather than an official Xiaomi India announcement.
Xiaomi Foldable Appears in Chinese Database
Xiaomi’s next foldable phone has cleared China’s telecommunications certification process under model number 2608BPX34C.
The listing confirms that the device is progressing towards release, although it does not reveal its official commercial name or complete specifications.
Reports have referred to the device as the Xiaomi 17 Fold, Mix Fold 5 and Mix Fold 6. Xiaomi has not confirmed which name it will use.
The foldable is expected to adopt a wider design than previous Mix Fold phones. Its reported specifications include a 7.6-inch folding display, Xiaomi’s Xring O3 processor and HyperOS 4 based on Android 17.
Leaks also point to a 200MP primary camera, a 6,000mAh battery, wireless charging and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. None of these specifications have been officially confirmed.
The “2608” prefix has led to speculation that Xiaomi could introduce the phone in China during August. However, the certification does not confirm an exact launch date or whether the foldable will be released internationally.
The three certifications indicate that Xiaomi is preparing a broader international Redmi Note 17 lineup while moving closer to launching its next-generation foldable device.
