Apple Might Reintroduce The 4-Inch iPhone Next Year

Apple was one of the last few reluctant phone-makers to resist the phablet trend, and now it seems that the company is keen to bring a phone resembling “an upgraded iPhone 5S back”. That could happen as early as next year.

The phone won’t be a slouch or an upselling platform like the iPhone 5c either. According to the report published by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and obtained by Mac Rumors, the phone will come with an Apple A9 to run iOS 9 (or 10) smoothly.

The new phone (iPhone 6C?) will come in a metal casing, with launch date set for the first half of 2016. The report notes that there is still demand for a 4” iPhone and Apple might be compelled to offer a new phone for its remarkable fan-base.

Apple iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus: What to Expect?

Regarding the now-normal duo of iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, the report hopes for a bit more differentiation this year in contrast to the past where the larger phone was just that: a larger phone. The 7 Plus will now come with 3 GB of RAM, compared to the 2 GB found in the smaller iPhone 7.

The phones will also get an internal upgrade from the A9 processor to an Apple A10 with increased oomph. Apple does some awesome work in the internal front and the future iPhones won’t likely be disappoint either.

Generally we take rumors with a pinch of salt, but Ming-Chi Kuo is a respectable analyst and has been providing valuable info in the outlook into Apple’s future for quite sometime. That’ll naturally add some weight to these rumors but we’ll have to wait and see if there’s really “one more thing” in the company’s next product launch.
