Calling All Startups for 1776 Challenge Cup: Win Over $1 Million in Prizes

Today’s entrepreneurs are the real superheroes. They bring together ideas, people and resources to try and make a difference to the world. Most of them start out with little to nothing except a burning desire to realize and achieve their goal.

This is where competitions for startups and entrepreneurs like the 1776 Challenge Cup come in, giving aspirants a chance to win big and become a force to reckon.

What is the Challenge Cup?

1776, a global incubator and venture fund, is the brains behind the Challenge Cup.

This is a worldwide tournament that’s held in many cities globally. Each edition of the Challenge Cup aims to attract the very best talent in the region the competition is been held on. Their aim is for startups to win cash prizes, make connections from around the world and generally compete on the global scale.

The competition consists of three rounds of progression:

  • Local
  • Regional
  • Global Finals

Winners and wild card hosts will be invited to Washington DC for the Global Finals that will be held in June 2016. Winners can take away $1 million or more in prizes. Contestants can take advantage by meeting investors, customers, media as they work towards making their entrepreneurial effort a commercial success.

Who is holding the Pakistani edition of the Challenge Cup?

Invest2Innovate (i2i), a local concern that helps entrepreneurs get the support they require, with the collaboration of WECREATE Center Pakistan, is hosting the local Challenge Cup competition for impact-focused startups. The completion will select 3 winning teams from Pakistan. These teams will then get the chance to compete for regional finals in Dubai by winning a fully-funded trip there.

Where and How to Apply for Challenge Cup?

First thing to note. Startups that come under the following categories are eligible for the competition. Categories include cities, energy, health, education, food, health, money, security, transportation.

The deadline for registering yourself for the competition is 1st December. The event itself will be held at Dec 19th in Islamabad. Location details will be sent via email to all participants at a later date.
