Travly to Launch Rickshaw Services in Karachi

Karachi is considered as one of the biggest mega-cities of the world, with a population numbering 15 million plus. Some would have thought that such a sprawling megalopolis might come with a fairly robust public transportation system.

Things couldn’t be more further than the truth. The dilapidated and shrinking number of buses that run on Karachi’s roads, the ban on Qingqis, the astronomical fares charged by rickshaws and taxis alike. All these things have made Karachi’s transportation woes a never-ending nightmare for most.

Travly Comes to Karachi

Seeing how Karachi needs a home-grown solution for its transportation blues, the entry of Travly, a local startup which aims to become the Uber of Pakistan, is seen as a welcome development. After Lahore, Karachittes will soon be able to take advantage of Travly’s mobile app to book their rides in advance.

The TukTuk Rickshaw Service

Travly’s TukTuk services comprise of a fleet of rickshaws along with properly vetted drivers, making the experience of finding a ride that’s safe and secure all the easier. As Karachi walas know, safety is one thing that they can’t compromise on.

You can use their mobile app or website to book a rickshaw at a time and place of your choosing. The rates and fares are competitive, depending on need and market factors.

When will the Service Go Live?

Currently their website is showing a Coming Soon image for Karachi. Since the service is expected to roll out in the coming days, expect the Travly website and mobile app to update as they kick off their next phase of expansion. We’ll share details as soon as they become available.

As Karachittes can attest to the horrendous state of affairs when it comes to transportation, Travly has a lot to gain and as much to lose. We can only hope Travly delivers on its premise and promise both.

You can download their app here or visit their website to see what the fuss is about.
