Ever Heard Of Washing Your Android Smartphone With Soap?

All phones may look all shiny, clean and new from the outside, but your cell phone is most likely one of the filthiest things you possess. The number of germs and bacteria it carries are horribly huge, which is probably the reason why Kyocera Telecom is targeting germaphobes by designing the world’s first washable smartphone.

Kyocera is a Japanese company that recently launched the DIGNO rafre in December 2015, the first ever hand soap washable smartphone. Yes, you heard it right, a washable cell phone!

A Soap-Washable Smartphone? What Could Ever Go Wrong Here?

Thinking of washing your hands and phone at the same time? Say no more. If this phone gets dirty all you have to do is lather up some soap, scrub it up a little, wash it with water and your phone is ready to be used again. No damage to the hardware or software whatsoever.

It does not end here; Kyocera has added hot water resistance as well as resistance against shock, water and dust. The back of Kyocera DIGNO rafre smartphone comes with a scratch-healing material that allows minor marks to heal on their own, making the phone look new over the years.

As this device is waterproof and soap resistant, it can be easily washed under running water. There is no risk involved of water entering the phone as it’s totally sealed to keep water and bubbles from entering in. Moreover it does not have a speaker; the sound of the phone relies on a Smart Sonic receiver which is built on the bone-conducting technology that transmits audio through vibrations on the phone’s screen.

A One of a Kind Smartphone for the Neat Freaks and Pretty Much Everybody!

The Rafre is crafted to be used in all kinds of environments without fear of getting dirty, since it can be cleaned off easily with soap and it is adaptable to all situations. According to Kyocera, its phone is ideal for use in the kitchen, outdoors, or even in the bathroom. The Kyocera DIGNO rafre has an amazing touch panel that works even when wet. At the current moment, this phone is only available to consumers in Japan; Kyocera has not launched it in the global market, although meetings are being held to introduce DIGNO rafre to customers all over the world.
