Samsung Galaxy TabPro S Takes on Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4

In an era of 2-in-1 machines, Samsung has finally introduced its Galaxy TabPro S tablet that has enough firepower to go head to head with a Surface Pro 4. The 12-inch tablet comes running Windows 10 with a resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels, and many other ‘pro’ features. let us take a look at the additional hardware present inside the product.

Galaxy TabPro S comes with Intel’s Core M processor and 4GB of RAM

Starting off with the processor, Galaxy TabPro S features an Intel Core M processor. This processor features two cores running at a speed of 2.2GHz. While a Core M CPU is generally not suitable for extremely taxing tasks, it will still get the job done as far as a 2-in-1 product goes. The display itself is a Super AMOLED one, and is the same type that Samsung uses for its smartphones and high-end Android powered tablets.

Needless to say, the colors on Galaxy TabPro S will look exceptionally sharp and the content present inside it will remain visible even if you happen to be outdoors; such is the magic of Super AMOLED. One of the disappointing things about the tablet is that it is only limited to 4GB of RAM and Samsung has not provided any option of upgrading the RAM. When you happen to be using Chrome or other tasks that require a hefty amount of RAM, you will naturally be limited to what you can do.

In addition, Galaxy TabPro S also comes with either 128GB or 256GB of flash storage and before you ask, this is the only part of the tablet that you can choose to increase. There is also an LTE model available, but looking at how expensive the tablet already is (pricing details given below), we doubt that you will entertain this particular version. For charging purposes, there is a Type-C USB port present, and a 5,200mAh battery.

According to Samsung, Galaxy TabPro S will be able to provide up to 10.5 hours of battery backup time (light usage) and it also supports the company’s own fast charging technology. In terms of hardware and pricing, the 2-in-1 will definitely be able to take on Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4, but its lack of upgradability will cause concern for a large number of consumers.
