The third session of DIGITALK, a monthly digital forum, was organized by TEC in Lahore at the Royal Palm Golf and Country Club on “Business Transformation through Internet of Things.”
Mr. Zain Majid CEO, TEC announced in the opening address that the next session of DIGITALK will be held in April at Islamabad.
Mr. Nauman Faysal, Country Head, Soloinsight shed light on the impact of IoT from a global point of view. He also shared how cloud based products of Soloinsight are offering access management, compliance enforcement, smart fire and safety solutions to make workplace secure. Mr. Nauman said that IoT is not a novel concept but Pakistan still needs a lot more understanding about it.
Second speaker of the evening was Mr. Usman Dastagir, Head Internet of Things for Telenor Pakistan.
He said that IoT is the next big thing and there is no doubt in that. He talked about slow and steady adaptability and awareness on IoT in Pakistan. Providing smart solutions to make everyday life easier is the key for those working in field of IoT. He also shared that it’s a 20 Billion rupees industry and that as of today, it will expand exponentially in Pakistan in the coming years.
There was a panel discussion followed by the presentations, which was moderated by Mr. Iftikhar Hussain VP Business and Strategy, TEC and opened the floor for a two-way discussion where the audience actively participated and put forward their point of view.
