Despite underwhelming performance by Sony’s mobile division, they continue trying. Their latest entry is in the mid-range area, the Xperia XA Ultra. Sony calls it a “stylish selfie-cam masterpiece” and plans to release it in July in various markets.
The Xperia XA Ultra has a huge 6.0” inch screen with a crisp 367 PPI. Its encased in a metal frame which is not easy to find in a mid-range phone.
The main feature for this phone is its front camera which is a 16 megapixel Exmore R 88-degree wide angle lens, an LED flash and OIS with auto focus. This is sure to please the selfie lovers.
It contains a Mediatek Helio P10 SoC which is cheaper to manufacture and could surface in more mid-range smartphones released later this year.
Battery could be a strong point for this smartphone with 2700 mAh battery with quick charge support which Sony claims can last 2 days on a single charge. It can last upto 5.5 hours with just 10 minutes of charge.
The price wasn’t mentioned by Sony, and the phone is expected to be released in July this year.
