SBP Revamps its Website, Adds New Features and Urdu Support

State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has revamped its website with users friendly features and addition of Urdu content.

Governor SBP Ashraf Wathra launched the revamped version of State Bank’s website at a special ceremony held to celebrate The Independence Day of Pakistan on 14th August 2016.

He said the website has been redesigned to provide easy access to available information about SBP policies and economic & financial data, thereby making its functioning more transparent.

Wathra said that while State Bank has been spreading information to the public through its website, there was room for improvement and its need was being felt for quite some time too.

Recently, Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has revamped its website with addition of Urdu version as well.

The translation of English content in Urdu is being carried out by different public sector institutions on the directives of the government which was ordered in September 2015 by Supreme Court of Pakistan to make Urdu as an official language in next three months.

Institutions failed to meet the deadline of the Supreme Court but they are gradually translating their material from English language to Urdu to abide by instruction of supreme judiciary, which is also good to enhance their connection with the local masses.
