The biggest telecommunication company in Pakistan, PTCL, has introduced Facebook at Work for its employees. This service allows employers to tailor Facebook access for their employees and use it as a tool for communication within the company.
Dr. Daniel Ritz, President & CEO PTCL launched this initiative by sending an invitation to all PTCL employees to join this corporate social media platform.
While similar in the design and concept, Facebook at Work differs in the sense that your audience is groups, rather than your friends.
Managers can limit the amount of access their subordinates have on their work accounts by limiting entertainment pages and entertainment news access. Multiple work account can be linked easily and security is a key feature of the platform.
Syed Mazhar Hussain CHRO at PTCL says,
The introduction of ‘Facebook at Work’ at PTCL will improve communication and engagement between employees and make way for seamless interactions in the work structure. This collaboration platform is a very strong tool for PTCL employees to connect in a convenient manner.

After this launch, PTCL has now joined the list of 500 companies in the world who are using Facebook at Work, and it becomes the largest in Pakistan in terms of number of users.
Various companies in Pakistan are now using Facebook at work increasingly over other enterprise communication tools like Slack, Convo and Yammer. It carries the advantage of needing no training to onboard employees and is hence a popular choice for large companies.
