The Karachi Institute of Technology and Entrepreneurship (KITE) is holding a startup competition next month. The winners will be rewarded with a fully-funded trip to the Oslo Innovation Week, happening in Norway in October. Not only that, but they will also be given a chance to meet investors and get incubated.
The KITE-Oslo Startup Challenge (KOSC) is primarily targeted at budding Pakistani startups that have the potential for significant positive influence. Their objective is to further strength and grow the entrepreneurial community in Pakistan.
They plan to achieve that by giving the entrepreneurs of Pakistan an opportunity to battle it out for a chance to pitch their startups at the Oslo Innovation Week in a fully-funded trip.
They will also offer extensive support from a broad business network, pro-bono development services and put the winning entrepreneurs in touch with Norwegian investors. Lastly, there is a month of all-expenses-paid incubation from Startup Lab, a Norwegian incubator.
The KOSC is sponsored by KITE itself and is being arranged in partnership with the City of Oslo and Startup Lab. Pakistan’s second largest mobile operator, Telenor, and IKT-Norge, the core interest group of Norwegian ICT industry, are also sponsoring the event.
Are you running an innovative startup that has the potential to be transformed into a viable business? If yes, then you definitely should apply.

Do note that you need to meet a certain criteria to be eligible for this competition:
The KITE-Oslo Startup Challenge is going to take place on the 9th and 10th of September, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. The venue for the event is KITE’s campus in Karachi.
It will consist of five rounds. After the application process, selected participants will then be asked to submit their plans by the 5th of September. In the third round, they will give elevator pitches to a panel of judges.
Finally, in the fourth round, shortlisted teams will give 15-minute detailed pitches of their startups. Out of these, just three finalists will be selected and will go on to Oslo for the final round!
