PIA Deploys 6 Air-Conditioning Units for Aircraft to Save Costs

Pakistan International Airlines is taking several initiatives to improve the performance of the organization and the customer dealings.

Today, the spokesperson of PIA, Danyal Gilani, reported that PIA has procured six AC vehicles which will help keep the aircraft cool when they are on the ground.

PIA reports that three of these vehicular AC’s are for Islamabad Airport, two for Lahore and one for Karachi airport.

To familiarize the staff with operations of the new equipment, various training programs are being carried out at Karachi Airport.

It is safe to say that by taking this step, PIA will save million of rupees every year. This equipment will replace Auxiliary Power Unit (APU), which provides energy for functions other than propulsion like AC, lighting etc. Moreover, these AC’s will help in keeping the cabins cool for the customers in summers and warm in winters, eventually leading to satisfactory and comfortable air travel for crew and passengers alike.
