Dream of Digital Pakistan Could be Materialized by 2018: Anusha

While chairing a board of directors’ meeting at USF, Ms. Anusha Rehman, Minister for State for Telecom and IT said that it’s government’s utmost priority to connect the unconnected.

“We are focusing on “broadband connectivity & provision” to even remote and far flung un-served rural areas of KPK & Baluchistan so that our dream of Digital Pakistan could be materialized by 2018 Insha’Allah”, she added.

MoS further directed USF to bolster monitoring and evaluation resources to ensure optimal use and sustainability of the rolled out projects.

The Chairperson; USF Co Board and the Minister of State for IT & Telecom; Mrs. Anusha Rahman chaired the meeting and took an overview of the existing and upcoming Projects of USF pertaining to the establishment of Telecenters, Establishment of Computer Labs in Women Empowerment Centers administered under Bait Ul Maal.

Establishment of 100 Computer Labs under project “ICT’s for Girls” were also discussed in the meeting.

The Minister directed USFCo authorities to devise an internal evaluation and monitoring mechanism to ensure transparency & efficiency in the company.

The board also directed that performance appraisal of all employees working in USFCo should be conducted on the basis of tangible and measurable KPIs on quarterly basis and report should be submitted to board.

Minister further Other Board members including the Secretary IT; Mr. Rizwan Bashir Khan, Member Telecom; Mr. Mudassar Hussain, Chairman PTA; Dr. Ismail Shah and CEO USF Co; Mr. Faisal Sattar also attended the meeting.


  • No doubt this lady is working her wonderful job in the field of Information Technology. She completed the number of successful projects on IT and some are still under process and many have been implemented. If ICT’s for girls project is launched that would be beneficial for the girls… Well done Nawaz sharif and Anusha Rahman…..

  • I think she has done a good job. If only she worked a little harder on IT instead of defending Mian Panama Sharif in press conferences, we might have had more work done.
