Meizu is announcing a new MediaTek-powered phone for the upper mid-range market. Dubbed the Meizu M5 Note, the phone comes with a large display, a stylish design and an attractive price.
The display is a 2.5D curved LTPS panel with 1080p resolution. Measuring 5.5-inch in size, it is said to come with a 1000:1 contrast ratio. The design is 8.15mm thick while the weighs in at 175 grams. It decidedly looks alluring with a metallic finish.
Under the hood, you’ll find a 1.8GHz octa-core processor with either 3 or 4 GB RAM, and storage options from 16-64 GB. 4 GB RAM only comes with a 64 GB variant. Storage can be expanded via a dual-SIM/microSD hybrid slot.
The camera on the back is of 13 MP resolution, with f/2.2 as well as 1080p video capture. The one on the front is of 5 MP resolution, accompanied by a fingerprint scanner on the home button.
Connectivity includes VoLTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The Meizu M5 Note will be available in Black, White, Gold and Blue options.
Pricing starts at $130 for the base 3 GB/16 GB variant, and goes all the way to $220 for the top-end model. It goes on sale next month.
