PTCL Chooses Viptela to Deliver Software-Defined WANs

Inbox Business Technologies and Viptela, the Software-Defined WAN (SD-WAN) company, announced a partnership to deploy software-defined wide area networking (SD-WAN) infrastructures for businesses and service providers in Pakistan. Inbox has signed the PTCL as its first Viptela customer in the country.

“Viptela’s platform is bleeding edge technology,” said Saad Waraich Chief Technology and Information Officer at PTCL, “but what also excites us is that it allows us to dramatically improve time to new services. As a company committed to innovation Viptela was the obvious choice to empower our business”.

The Viptela SD-WAN platform enables Inbox to “mix and match” private and public IP connections such as MPLS, wireless LTE, broadband and Ethernet to meet each customer’s specific application requirements based on geographic location, topology, bandwidth and application service availability needs. It delivers secure end-to-end network virtualization in the WAN, while providing enterprise grade routing, security, centralized policy and orchestration capabilities. Viptela enables a robust security foundation for enterprise networks and removes the major challenges associated with cloud migration to IaaS and SaaS.

“We’re really excited about this partnership” said Mir Nasir CEO of Inbox. “Viptela solutions enable carriers and service providers in the telecom sector to deliver virtualized WAN services at a 50% lower cost, with 10x more bandwidth and 5x higher voice and cloud performance than alternatives. It’s fantastic technology!”.

“The Viptela platform enables Inbox to deploy hybrid WANs that meet both carrier and enterprise network security, agility and performance requirements,” said Amir Khan, CEO of Viptela. “We are pleased to be partnering with one of Pakistan’s top integrators and to count Pakistan’s leading telecommunication company as our first joint customer.”

Viptela’s SD-WAN platform provides Inbox the following capabilities for implementing agile, business-class WANs:

  • Centralized management for increased agility: Can deploy changes in service policies in minutes using centralized management and zero-touch capabilities
  • Application performance and service availability: Offers unprecedented visibility into application and infrastructure performance to enable informed decisions on resource utilization and application tuning
  • Strong security: Provides authentication for all devices and encrypts every packet in the network for added protection while supporting network segmentation
  • Service-chaining: Enables add-on L4 – L7 services including WAN optimization, firewalls and data leak prevention
