New Windows 10 Creators Update Features Detailed for Xbox One

Now that the Windows 10 Creators Update is about to be released to users, we are finally getting a sneakpeak on the features that it brings for the Xbox One in the latest preview.

The new update will bring several new features with it for PCs including a built-in broadcasting option (similar to Twitch), the new 3D paint and VR.

The update is bringing a few visual improvements as well as simpler user-interface elements for Xbox One. The Home is updated so it gets faster and smarter. The most valuable content includes your most-played games along with options to view achievements, get into Game Hub specifics and more.

The Guide menu has been enhanced so it is accessible from anywhere on the left-hand side of the display. You can control music playback from there, as well as your recent and most-commonly played game titles. You also get multi-tasking features, as well as an option to record gameplay videos or Beam content on an internet stream.

Cortana, Microsoft’s assistant, is being enhanced with reminders and alarms so you don’t miss important sessions. There will be improved audio courtesy of Dolby Atmos surround sound. A new Copilot feature even lets you use two controllers as one (targeted at gamers who need assistance), while customizations for rumble feedback are in place.

Microsoft is enhancing the Magnifier and Narration tools, while also telling you at what stage you are during the download and installation process of an update.

The feature set will be gradually rolled out to users in the Insider program in the coming few days, which is perhaps for the better as the updates are known for breaking systems early on. It is yet another way through which we see Microsoft bring all its platforms under one umbrella.
