Brainstorming Session on 9th Feb for Pakistan’s First Robotics Innovation Center

To transform Pakistan’s economy into a knowledge based one by promoting efficient, sustainable and effective ICT initiatives through digital development of industrial and academic resources, National ICT R&D Fund, along with the Ministry of IT plans on launching new projects.

It was recently reported that the National ICT R&D, Board of Directors, under the chair of Minister for IT, Anusha Rahman, has approved the preliminary work for the formulation of RFPs to establish National Centers of Innovation in the emerging technologies of TechFin, IoT and Robotics and work has already begun.

These centers would shelp in the growth of digital services in Pakistan. The Robotics Innovation Center is one such initiative.

The objective of the robotics center is to enable innovators to transform ideas into commercially viable products. The Robotics Innovation Center will be a cross-disciplinary innovation & commercialization institute dedicated to innovations in products, and end-user experiences that maximize the benefits of robotics across different sectors including:

  • Agriculture
  • Security
  • Medical
  • Industrial automation
  • Automobiles

The Center will act as a hub of resources and support for startups, industry & students. National ICT R&D Fund is inviting startups, industry professionals, innovators and researchers to brainstorm with them in building a state-of-the-art Robotics Innovation Center within the country.

The Meetup

The meetup session is planned on Thursday, 09 February 2017 at 1000hrs (10:00AM) in the National ICT R&D Fund Office. Remote participants will be able to join on video conferencing link as well. Participants need to register by February the 7th to take part in the event and booking are being made on a first come first serve basis.
